The current view from afar is looking promising in terms of advancing the internet into the next generation of awesome! The internet as we currently know it, is still relatively slow, at least for lots of American households at the time of this writing. The Internet will basically propel all the new technologies in the near and far future. So it is a point that should be listened to with sincerity in following through. The internet if you want to equate it to something physical would be like the oxygen in the air all around us; you don’t have enough of it to go around and people die! The reason I make this profound of a comparison is the fact that everything we buy in the future will be able to connect to this network in one way or another, and if you're being charged out the wazoo for low bandwidth internet(or barely any oxygen) how the heck is our society ever going to advance, if you have to worry about paying for the simple air in which you partake!

In our current society we pay for things that directly we consume. And to get to these things that we consume we need pathways to get there. The roadways paved for our use are generally not payed for directly, but rather paid through via taxes or the likes. But the physical space that the car occupies is not something that you have to pay extra for at all(in terms of monthly fees)... So why is it that in the current architecture of the internet you have to pay all along the way... You not only have to pay for the website you want to access through subscription fees, but in addition there are several other stops to be payed for... You need to have cash ready to pay for the road to get there(the internet connection), the lanes you're allowed to use(speed) and even pay for the space on the road it occupies(data caps on wireless networks) all directly...

Now that you've picked up your jaw from falling through the floor to the center of our burning core -- if you happen to be on earth, that is, when you read this which is a good chance unless you're part of some government agency related to space travel -- there's a good chance that you might be rethinking that internet bill you pay each month.

Another good reason for freeing up this monthly bill to, lets say, a taxed based internet infrastructure is that it will allow more money to flow into the businesses that are on the web, as people would be more willing to pay for content in the traditional sense since there is no huge fees for what feels like a service that you expect content out of.

I mean why should a virtual magazine publisher not be allowed to make a little money off their product if the same publication printed on paper would be seen as an OK thing to purchase? That is the biggest problem I see with the current way the internet is being distributed; everyone just expects all the services to be free as, after all, they are paying a monthly fee by even using the internet just to get to it... Free that problem up and I bet more people will be willing to pay for content that is hosted on the internet as long as it’s quality stuff we are talking about here.

Another money squeeze problem that I see is that on top of all that, some companies even have the audacity to charge additional monthly fees on your bill for each device you even have connected to it... This is a really big problem especially if in the future you even have the littler things, such as your fridge, connecting up to this vast network of stuff to enhance our lives even further... The electric company does not discriminate against how many things you have plugged into your outlet at home, then why should a wireless carrier be allowed to charge on a device basis to communicate to the nearest tower? I know each device would need an ip address, but those are easy to come by once the IPv6 network becomes a full standard venue for our internet at large; not at all enough to justify the huge fees that these carriers want to charge us for these basic things.

I do feel we need a better way to implement wireless communication these days. One that instead of wasted omni-directional energy, would instead involve directional requirements of the radiated energy. Why should all this energy be wasted by sending radio waves into all the nearby fleshlings as well as random fence posts and the likes when technologies could be developed to have a 360 radial directional antenna that would only activate the scope of the antenna that would send the energy just towards the other device that it is trying to communicate with; no mechanical parts involved at all. This would help on battery life as well as cancer problems derived from our mobile devices. If our phone devices were more aware of it’s surroundings, it would be capable of just sending the data to the nearest tower directionally without cluttering up the airwaves for the other devices around. This is also wasted energy that would otherwise be more useful than the current scope of just sending this energy anywhere and everywhere which even includes into the side of your head...

These are very real problems that many just seem to want to just up and ignore because of how much money is being made with all these technologies... And golly gee, it just doesn't make sense if we try and spend some of that hard earned money on improving an existing technology to better utilize the current physics of energy to allow even more devices to connect which will allow more progress to ensue... I do hope you caught on to my sarcasm in that last sentence. But all in all, this is something that can certainly be improved if we, the consumer/people, push for change that makes sense in the long scope of things, and not just what seems to make sense right at this moment and only in the moment. Hint hint, it isn't money!
