Woah... We are now in space, or are about to be; and what's that I see in the distance? It’s something floating towards us at an ever increasing rate, or so it seems.

There are many out there who like to look beyond the horizon and see the world for what it might be all about! Space travel is certainly something that will expand into the next era of forward expansion. There is so much to see and do out there in the world of space it’s a wonder we aren’t doing more to get a move along to get there that much quicker. Now I know that the planet we live on is one of the most wondrous things in the universe that we currently know about, certainly much better verses anything relating to a lot of the desolate plants that are currently floating about with the force of gravity to guide it back home.

There are many platforms that have been created to host an item or two on a trip to the edge between our world and the great void of space. These platforms usually host a weather-balloon to take the now declared explorer to new heights into the sky to be released once the expansion of helium gets far too sparse to hold the bond of the elastic that is weakened by the ever moving particles that now have room to roam!

There have been Twinkies(back when they were in full force of production,) Chairs, figurines, and many other assortment of goods that have been sent into the depths of the blue skies. Now low and behold a kitten herself has now graced the edges of space to reel in all the fans of a popular TV show relating to these furry creatures that are just so lovable. Yes, that right lovers of cute and cuddly, Hello Kitty has now been to a place that not many have been themselves, at least not yet.

As a project for school titled “Dream science project,” a 7th grader from the great state of California decided to go the extra mile -- literally -- and then some to achieve recognition for her awe of the world we live in. Now the goal of this endeavor is not just to launch a cool figurine to the depths of space(but that certainly doesn’t hurt the trek at all), but the true reason for this journey is to measure the air pressure and temperatures of the great edge of our sphere that we live upon.

Once the platform was readied by working closely with a company called “High Altitude Science in Colorado,” it was then released into the scope of the world all ‘round. The platform quickly ascended into the sky to the height of 93,625 feet or roughly 17.73 miles into the stratosphere. Once it arrived there the balloon -- which was the only thing lifting all that weight into the sky -- burst. That caused the parachute to deploy and it quickly found it’s way to a tree about 47 miles away from the location which the pad was launched.

This is something that I would definitely hope would win in this school competition that she is participating in, but as with any competition there are competitors who might be able to one up all that with their expertise in another scopes of life. But I say good job for all the planning that was put into this, as the outcome it quite spectacular. Especially the footage that was captured from the cameras that were recording this kitty during its travel through near space.

All the planning that went into this must of been a real consumer of time to begin with as the parachute would have to be deployed at the right time to ensure that the capsule didn't cause damage to any property when it re-entered the great and spacious troposphere. The cameras that were used to film would've needed to be tested to ensure that they could withhold the temperature, pressure changes, and exposure to elevated rates of radiation that would result in straying away from the protection of our wondrous Mother Earth.
