Here’s a shocker of a story!
After a boat capsizes during a Chesapeake Bay storm a ways off the coast of the Maryland shore line -- about 3 miles to round it of; a member of the family swam for 5 almost straight hours to get to the rocks of the shore to call for help!
He pounced the first house he saw with what little energy that he had left! After crawling to the residence and alerting the dogs there to his presence, the resident woke and found the striken man, after hearing the quick rundown of what happened, she instantly called the authorities so that they could take over and save the rest that were in distress.
The fact that the swimmer didn’t know what was going to happen to his family was more of a reason to trek onward even though according to authorities he braved some of the worse tides of the season. 3 miles is no easy task in the heed of night after arriving on the shore sometime around 1 in the morning.
Back at the capsized boat the family was in distress as what probably seemed like mountainous waves that continuously crashed into their floating vessel for far too long. But the Mother kept the spirits raised as she made sure all were wearing life jackets at the first signs of the dilemma that took place.
The water benign them was glowing from the florescence filled Jelly Fish, which proved some comfort if you count out the fact that they were stung repeatedly by some of those pesky Jelly Fish.
Of course when the family was reunited, the Brother of the Mother who swam the distance was deemed a hero of the family as he was embraced with a warm hug.
After all that they went through, I'm sure they will take more precautions to prevent any type of event such as this capsizing from taking form ever again. Even more of a reason to get a long distant water proof radio to call for help in!
Oh and bring enough gas for the trip might of helped too.
